500g Lean Braising Steak cubed
1 Large Onion - finely diced
1 Red Chilli deseeded or not if you like it hot
1" Piece fresh Ginger
3 Cloves Garlic
1 Tbsp Ground Cumin
1 Tbsp Ground Coriander
1/2 to 1 Tsp Chilli powder or to taste
1 Tsp Paprika
1 Tsp Garam Masala
1 Tin Chopped Tomatoes
Fresh Coriander if liked
Method
Brown Onion in Fry Light.
Whizz up Ginger, Garlic and Chilli in blender or chop finely. Add to Onion and fry for a couple of minutes.
Add Cumin, Coriander, Paprika and Chilli Powder and fry for a couple of minutes adding a splash of water to stop spices burning.
Add Beef and coat in mixture.
Add Chopped Tomatoes and water to barely cover if required. (I cook mine in pressure cooker and find it doesn't need the extra liquid).
Cook for about 1 1/2 hours or until tender.....or 20 minutes in pressure cooker.
Just before serving stir in Garam Masala and fesh Coriander.
This is even better made the day before!
